Remote AOD Workforce presents at NIDAC

Administrator's Medal Nomination for Primary Health Care

National Indigenous Drug and Alcohol Conference 2016

The Remote Alcohol and Other Drugs Workforce Program Leadership Group was at last week’s National Indigenous Drug and Alcohol Conference in Adelaide.
It was the second year the Group has presented at the conference. The focus at last week’s conference was the Group’s formation and development.
The Leadership Group was formed in 2013. It is a consortium of senior remote Alcohol and Other Drugs workers from the Department of Health and Aboriginal community-controlled health organisations supported by the Remote AOD Workforce Program.
The program offers a conduit between workers on the ground and the Program Support Unit providing clinical direction, education, mentoring and business support.
The Leadership Group also mentors newer remote AOD workers, supporting them with their clinical work and community development projects.
